The Story
Dunna takes its name from Nuredduna, a figure from Mallorcan poetry who listened, observed, and protected what she recognized as true beauty. Nuredduna was a guardian of culture and memory: she preserved what was precious and allowed creativity and artistry to survive and thrive.—qualities that inspire every project we undertake
In the poem, Nuredduna encounters Melesigeni, a Greek poet who has been imprisoned by the islanders. In him, she recognizes something rare: beauty, sensitivity, and creativity. Against fear and convention, she chooses to protect him and his art. She ensures that the lira—the symbol of cultural legacy—remains on the island, preserving a thread of knowledge and creativity for the future.
Like Nuredduna, Dunna approaches each space with respect and care. We don’t impose trends or styles; we recognize what is essential and let it endure.
